Position: Commissioning Manager - Water Treatment
Overview:
Seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead the commissioning phase of a major water treatment facility. This role is focused on desalination and requires deep technical knowledge of related processes, as well as strong leadership and coordination skills. The successful candidate will oversee complex commissioning tasks, manage a multidisciplinary team, and ensure successful system integration and handover.
Key Responsibilities:
Commissioning Oversight: Lead commissioning activities for systems including intake pumps, pretreatment, clarifiers, dissolved air flotation (DAF), reverse osmosis (RO), and energy recovery units. Ensure each process meets performance and quality standards.
Process Integration: Verify that all plant systems function as intended and align with the overall process design and optimization goals.
Team Coordination: Direct and support the commissioning team, defining clear roles, responsibilities, and project timelines.
Client Interface: Serve as the primary technical contact during commissioning. Provide updates and respond to client inquiries.
Troubleshooting: Manage cross-disciplinary troubleshooting for mechanical, electrical, and chemical systems. Drive timely resolution of performance issues.
Chemical Systems: Supervise the commissioning of chemical dosing systems for optimal efficiency and compliance with water quality targets.
Instrumentation and Controls: Coordinate integration of instrumentation, DCS systems, and electrical components. Address and resolve system interface issues.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all activities adhere to safety, health, and environmental standards. Conduct safety briefings and risk assessments.
Documentation: Oversee preparation of commissioning documentation, including protocols, test results, and final handover packages.
Field Support: Provide on-site engineering assistance during commissioning, including hands-on verification of equipment and system performance.
Qualifications:
Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
Minimum 10 years of experience commissioning industrial water treatment facilities, preferably desalination
Demonstrated success leading commissioning teams and interacting with clients
Strong technical troubleshooting and process analysis skills
Excellent verbal and written communication in English
Working knowledge of instrumentation, control systems, and electrical systems
