About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Dam Safety Engineer to support and lead high‑profile dam‑safety, hydraulic structures, and risk‑informed engineering projects in the Nashville region.
This role supports a growing regional demand for dam‑safety expertise, consistent with openings from major market players in the Nashville area, who emphasize geotechnical, hydraulic, and PFMA‑related dam‑safety competencies.
You will contribute directly to some of the most complex and technically challenging dam‑safety projects nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering assessments for dams, spillways, outlet works, and water‑retaining structures, aligned with dam‑safety industry standards.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses including 1D/2D modeling and advanced CFD studies for spillways and outlet works.
- Conduct dam breach modeling, flood routing, paleoflood analysis, and inflow design flood development.
- Support Potential Failure Mode Analyses (PFMAs) and large‑scale dam inspections, mirroring expectations of Nashville‑area employers.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams through design studies, safety investigations, and modification projects.
- Prepare engineering reports, technical documentation, and risk‑informed decision‑support materials.

Required Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- B.S. or M.S. in Civil, Environmental, Hydraulic, or Water Resources Engineering.

- Spillway/outlet works design and analysis
- CFD modeling workflows
