Role Overview
The position leads strategic and operational oversight of a transmission-focused energy business. It encompasses responsibility for business growth, financial planning, regulatory strategy, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring alignment with industry standards and long-term organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth & Business Development
- Identify and evaluate expansion opportunities within the transmission sector.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to assess market trends and emerging technologies.
- Develop and execute strategies that support long-term infrastructure development and grid modernization.
Capital Planning & Financial Oversight
- Lead multi-year capital investment planning, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
- Oversee budgeting and financial modeling for transmission projects.
- Coordinate with finance teams to secure funding and manage cost controls.
Rate Recovery & Regulatory Engagement
- Develop and support filings for cost recovery through regulated rate structures.
- Interface with regulatory bodies to advocate for fair and sustainable rate mechanisms.
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes impacting transmission operations.
Policy & Compliance Leadership
- Guide the organization's response to legislative and regulatory developments.
- Ensure compliance with federal, regional, and state-level transmission standards.
- Represent the company in industry forums and policy discussions.
Stakeholder Relations
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including regulators, community leaders, and industry partners.
- Communicate project goals, benefits, and impacts clearly and effectively.
- Foster transparency and trust through proactive engagement and responsiveness.
Operational Governance
- Implement internal controls and performance metrics to ensure accountability.
- Support audit readiness and continuous improvement in compliance practices.
- Promote a culture of safety, reliability, and ethical business conduct.
Candidate Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field; MBA preferred
- Experience: 10+ years in energy/utilities, with transmission focus
- Expertise:

- Stakeholder and policy engagement
- Skills:

- Deep understanding of FERC, NERC, RTO/ISO operations
