Electrical Engineer - Natural Gas

Overview
We're seeking a seasoned Electrical Engineer to lead the design and implementation of electrical systems for large-scale energy and infrastructure projects. These include hydrogen and ammonia production, carbon capture, electrolysis, and pipeline facilities. This role blends technical leadership with cross-functional collaboration and project execution.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical design from concept through completion, ensuring alignment with project goals and standards.
  • Develop and review equipment specifications, technical evaluations, and vendor documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical systems into broader project designs.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and change orders.
  • Provide construction support including field inspections, issue resolution, and QA/QC oversight.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering codes, safety regulations, and internal standards.
  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and performance reports.
  • Specify and evaluate electrical systems including switchgear, transformers, VFDs, UPS, and protection schemes.
  • Support procurement and factory testing of electrical equipment.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal standards development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical design for industrial or energy facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of power distribution, motor control, and protection systems.
  • Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, ISA, and other relevant codes.
  • Proficient in interpreting electrical schematics, one-lines, and P&IDs.
  • Experience with medium/high voltage systems and rotating equipment.
  • Skilled in MS Office and electrical modeling software (e.g., ETAP, SKM).
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.

Preferred Experience

  • Electrical design for hydrogen, ammonia, or GTL facilities.
  • Electrolysis systems and arc flash studies.
  • Substation design and rotating equipment integration.
  • Advanced proficiency in engineering software and tools.
