A growing MEP engineering group is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 2-6 years of experience to support a wide range of commercial, institutional, educational, and mission‑critical building projects. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects while working in a collaborative, supportive environment.
Position Overview
In this role, you'll be responsible for the design and coordination of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low‑voltage systems. You'll work closely with multi‑disciplinary teams and gain exposure to both design and field work.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and layout electrical systems for commercial and institutional buildings
- Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and engineering reports
- Perform load calculations, short‑circuit analysis, and lighting calculations
- Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, and project stakeholders
- Conduct site visits and field surveys to confirm existing conditions
- Assist with project schedules, budgets, and design milestones
- Stay current with applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IBC, etc.)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 2-6 years of experience in building electrical design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
- Experience with lighting and power calculation tools preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- EIT preferred; PE not required
