Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support commissioning and integration activities for modular power solutions across a range of sectors, including energy, chemicals, and utilities.

You'll play a key role in delivering fully integrated electrical systems, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operation from testing through to final handover.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out commissioning activities for low- and medium-voltage electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, motor control centres (MCCs), drives, generators, UPS systems, grounding networks, and protection devices
  • Contribute to the preparation and execution of commissioning procedures, inspection plans, and testing documentation
  • Perform factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT), loop checks, insulation resistance testing, and system verification activities
  • Conduct primary and secondary injection testing and assist with protection relay validation
  • Identify and resolve technical issues during system start-up and integration phases
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, construction, quality, safety, vendors, and end users
  • Review technical drawings such as single-line diagrams, schematics, and datasheets to ensure alignment with project specifications
  • Compile and maintain commissioning reports, test documentation, and project handover records
  • Support delivery timelines by ensuring commissioning milestones are achieved to schedule and quality standards

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in commissioning, start-up, or testing of electrical systems
  • Solid understanding of industry standards such as NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and NETA
  • Background working within industrial environments such as oil & gas, power generation, manufacturing, or data centres
  • Experience using electrical testing equipment (e.g., insulation resistance testers, relay test sets, injection kits, Hi-Pot testers)
  • Ability to interpret complex electrical diagrams and technical documentation
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with clients and stakeholders

Preferred (Not Essential)

  • NETA certification (Level II or higher)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, ideally in Texas
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • OSHA 30 and/or NFPA 70E training
