Technical Manager - Energy Storage Systems (ESS)

Location: Remote (Australia or Singapore preferred)
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and consultative Technical Manager to support the growth and execution of Energy Storage Systems (ESS) projects across the APAC region. This role is ideal for someone with a strong electrical engineering background, deep understanding of power systems, and the ability to engage directly with clients as the technical face of the company.

The successful candidate will play a key role in pre-sales and post-sales technical support, including grid connection studies, application sizing validation, and technical contract negotiations. This can be a remote position, with flexibility to be based in Australia or Singapore.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical discussions with clients, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Validate BESS application sizing and ensure alignment with project requirements and grid standards.
  • Support grid connection processes, including technical documentation and compliance with local regulations.
  • Contribute to CTC (Clause-to-Clause) technical contract negotiations, ensuring clarity and risk mitigation.
  • Assist in defining and supporting performance guarantees (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, engineering, operations) to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership during pre-sales, and act as a bridge to the execution and operations teams post-sale.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in grid connection, power systems, and technical project support.
  • Experience with BESS is highly preferred; candidates with strong power systems backgrounds will also be considered.
  • Strong understanding of energy storage applications, system sizing, and integration with renewable energy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to explain complex technical concepts to clients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in contract negotiation and understanding of technical clauses in EPC or supply contracts.
  • Familiarity with performance modeling, EMS, and PCS systems.
  • Previous experience in a client-facing technical role within the energy or infrastructure sector.
