Field Service Technician

A leading organization in the water treatment industry is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to support customers in the Los Angeles, California area. This role involves providing advanced service and consultation for water treatment applications in light industrial settings. The position includes local travel but does not require overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on customer applications to ensure optimal performance.
  • Support new installations, equipment calibrations, and remote monitoring systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical systems including pumps, piping, chemical feed systems, and storage tanks.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal sales teams.
  • Deliver technical training to customers as needed.
  • Identify and communicate new business opportunities to the sales team.
  • Prepare detailed service reports using company tools and systems.
  • Maintain company-owned equipment and ensure proper use of tools and safety gear.
  • Complete required training and administrative tasks.
  • Manage inventory and supplies at customer sites.
  • Meet service performance metrics including safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure safe operations in compliance with company and customer policies.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance and water treatment.
  • Strong knowledge of water treatment principles and practices.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Expertise in cooling, boiler, wastewater, and sanitation systems.
  • Proficient with monitoring and diagnostic tools.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and CRM software.

Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective time management and planning.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality.
  • Team-oriented with transparent communication.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting up to 60 lbs. manually and 300 lbs. with a hand truck.
  • Able to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Visual acuity for working with computers and electronic devices.
  • Willingness to work extra hours and travel locally as needed.
