About the Role
Responsibilities
- Conduct field investigations of structural and building system failures
- Analyze construction defects, material performance, and damage mechanisms
- Perform engineering calculations and evaluate design/construction documents
- Prepare detailed, client-ready reports outlining findings and conclusions
- Collaborate with senior engineers and support expert witness activities
- Participate in client meetings, site inspections, and project scoping
- Maintain strong documentation and adhere to deadlines in a litigation-driven environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline
- 1-8 years of relevant engineering experience
- EIT certification required; PE license preferred or in progress
- Prior forensic engineering experience strongly preferred (failures, inspections, or expert work)
- Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Ability to conduct fieldwork, including site inspections in varied conditions
- Self-motivated with an interest in investigative engineering work
