Geotechnical Staff Engineer (3-5 Years Experience)
Location: Auburn Hills, MI (Hybrid: 3 days office / 2 days remote)

The Opportunity
This role offers a balanced mix of field and office work (approx. 50/50), giving you exposure to the full geotechnical lifecycle-from site investigations through to reporting and design recommendations.
The position is part of a long-term growth strategy for the geotechnical team, offering clear progression and the chance to step into more senior responsibilities as you develop.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and oversee geotechnical field investigations, including drilling and sampling
- Log soils and assist with site exploration programs
- Prepare geotechnical reports, recommendations, and analyses
- Work across a variety of projects including commercial development, infrastructure, and utilities
- Collaborate with internal teams across civil, environmental, and surveying disciplines
- Balance hands-on fieldwork with office-based engineering tasks
Requirements
- 3-5 years of geotechnical engineering experience
- Strong experience with drilling, logging, and field investigations
- Experience producing technical reports and recommendations
- EIT certification preferred (PE not required)
- Motivated, practical, and eager to develop technically
