Position Overview
The Graphics Specialist (Building Automation) is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high‑quality graphical user interfaces (GUIs) and system visuals for Building Automation Systems (BAS). This role is fully remote, but candidates must be based in the United States to support US time zones, project requirements, and client locations.
The ideal candidate combines strong visual design skills with technical understanding of BAS platforms and mechanical/electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
1. Graphics Creation & Development
- Design and produce BAS graphics for HVAC, lighting, energy dashboards, and environmental systems.
- Develop interactive floor plans, equipment schematics, point summaries, and system navigation layouts.
- Maintain and enhance symbol libraries, templates, and graphic standards.
2. System Integration Support
- Interpret mechanical drawings, control submittals, and sequences of operation.
- Map BAS control points (BACnet, Modbus, proprietary protocols) to graphical elements.
- Ensure accurate animations, alarms, and real-time system data display.
3. Platform Expertise
Experience in one or more of the following tools is preferred:
- Niagara N4 / Tridium Workbench
- Siemens Desigo CC / Apogee
- Schneider Electric EcoStruxure
- Johnson Controls Metasys
- Honeywell WEBs / EBI
4. Quality & Standards
- Deliver graphics that meet project specifications and client branding guidelines.
- Perform QA/QC for usability, design consistency, and performance.
- Maintain documentation for naming conventions, workflows, and design standards.
5. Collaboration & Coordination
- Work with project managers, BAS programmers, engineers, and commissioning teams across US time zones.
- Support remote coordination with clients to gather requirements and present design updates.
- Assist with system handovers and end‑user training when needed.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in BAS/HVAC graphics design or equivalent visualization roles.
- Understanding of building automation concepts and HVAC fundamentals.
- Proficiency in graphic design software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Visio, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Familiarity with BAS platforms such as Tridium, Siemens, Schneider, JCI, or Honeywell.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, riser diagrams, and control schematics.
- Strong attention to detail, self‑management, and remote communication skills.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States and physically located within the US.
