Location: Any Florida Office (Fort Myers, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, West Palm Beach)

My client is seeking a senior-level Hydrogeologist Practice Lead to guide strategic growth and technical excellence in groundwater and water resource initiatives across Florida and nationally. This role is ideal for a dynamic leader with deep expertise in hydrogeology, a strong client network, and a passion for mentoring and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate relationships with key water resource leaders and decision-makers throughout Florida and across the Southeastern U.S.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of projects and programs focused on groundwater management, underground injection control, alternative water supplies, and broader water resource initiatives.
  • Collaborate with regional office leaders and technical communities to position for strategic opportunities.
  • Lead and support projects involving deep well injection, mine effluent management, and carbon sequestration.
  • Contribute to team development through mentoring, skill-building, and leadership within hydrogeology and water supply disciplines.
  • Direct aquifer well field studies, development, rehabilitation, and operational strategies, including aquifer storage and recovery, managed aquifer recharge, drought mitigation, and saltwater intrusion barriers.
  • Support integrated surface and groundwater management programs and natural systems restoration through scenario planning and implementation.
  • Drive technology assessments and implementation strategies that address client groundwater needs and enhance competitive differentiation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven experience in client-facing subject matter expert and business development roles.
  • Demonstrated success in team building, strategic planning, mentoring, and growth initiatives.
  • 15+ years of experience in hydrogeology and water resource planning, including groundwater management, underground injection control, water rights, brackish groundwater treatment, and aquifer storage and recovery.
  • Strong background in leading hydrogeological studies and implementation projects, including well field planning, design, and optimization.
  • Proficiency in drawdown tests, aquifer characterization technologies, and groundwater modeling.
  • Experience working with regulatory and state agencies, including permitting processes.
  • Professional Geologist certification in Florida is required.
