Lead Mechanical Estimator (Philadelphia Based)
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lead Mechanical Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical estimating, particularly within HVAC, Plumbing, and Piping systems, and be proficient in using Trimble estimating software. This role is critical in ensuring accurate and competitive bids for mechanical projects, supporting both pre-construction and project execution phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical estimating process for HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems across commercial and industrial projects.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals using Trimble and other relevant software.
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather and validate cost data.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
- Maintain and update historical cost databases and unit pricing.
- Participate in bid reviews and presentations with senior leadership and clients.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and company policies.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator, ideally in a lead or senior role.
- Strong proficiency with Trimble estimating tools (e.g., Trimble AutoBid Mechanical, Trimble Accubid).
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity with construction scheduling and project management tools is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience with BIM and digital takeoff tools.
- Membership in professional organizations such as ASPE or MEP contractors' associations.
