Managing Director - Valuation & Litigation Services
Our client is seeking a strategic and dynamic Managing Director to lead their Valuation & Litigation Services practice. This role is responsible for overseeing high-stakes valuation engagements in the context of litigation, regulatory investigations, and dispute resolution. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, proven leadership, and a strong network within the legal and financial services sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic direction and growth of the Litigation & Valuation Services practice.
- Oversee complex valuation engagements involving commercial disputes, shareholder actions, intellectual property, bankruptcy, and regulatory matters.
- Act as a senior advisor and expert witness in high-profile litigation cases, providing defensible valuation opinions and testimony.
- Build and maintain relationships with law firms, corporate counsel, regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholders.
- Review and sign off on expert reports, financial models, and client deliverables to ensure technical accuracy and legal defensibility.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing team of valuation professionals, including managers, analysts, and consultants.
- Drive business development initiatives, including thought leadership, client pitches, and strategic partnerships.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across forensic accounting, economic damages, and risk advisory services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Professional certifications such as ASA, CFA, CPA, ABV, or CFE required.
- 12+ years of experience in valuation, litigation support, or forensic advisory, with a track record of leadership and client impact.
- Demonstrated experience in expert witness testimony and litigation consulting.
- Strong understanding of valuation standards, legal procedures, and dispute resolution frameworks.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex, multi-jurisdictional engagements.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience working with alternative asset managers, law firms, and public sector entities.
- Familiarity with valuation in the context of M&A disputes, securities litigation, and international arbitration.
- Exposure to enterprise technology platforms and data analytics tools used in litigation support.
