Position: Lead Mechanical Engineer
Location: Orlando, FL
Department: Building, Energy, and Infrastructure (BEI) Group
Employment Type: Full-Time | Hybrid (Minimum 3 Days In-Office)

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our Orlando-based BEI team.

Position Overview:
The Lead Mechanical Engineer will serve as a technical leader within a multidisciplinary project team, responsible for the design and coordination of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection. This role involves direct client interaction, oversight of design documentation, and mentoring of junior staff. The successful candidate will contribute to projects across healthcare, higher education, government, and commercial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead mechanical design efforts and serve as Engineer of Record for assigned projects
Produce and oversee construction drawings and specifications using Revit and AutoCAD
Conduct field surveys, system assessments, and generate observation reports
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal design standards and regulations
Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project alignment
Support business development and client engagement activities
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical development within the team

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (mechanical focus) from an ABET-accredited institution
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida; NCEES registration preferred
5-8 years of relevant experience in mechanical design for facilities
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD; familiarity with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam
Strong knowledge of ASHRAE standards and Florida building codes
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Ability to travel to project sites and client meetings throughout Central Florida
Must reside in the greater Central Florida area
