Electrical Engineer - Protection & Control (Renewable Energy)
We're partnering with a mid-size engineering firm known for its collaborative culture, strong technical standards, and genuine work-life balance to hire an Electrical Engineer with Protection & Control experience. This role supports a growing portfolio of renewable energy projects across the U.S. and be on the front lines of a smaller but growing in-house team that will be taking projects from design through commissioning phase for P&C.
Compensation is dependent on level and years of experience. Senior/Lead level will require 8-10+ years of engineering experience and a preference to PE but not required. Engineers with 2-5, 5-8 years of experience are eligible to be considered for II-III levels.
Positions can sit 100% remote from the US with up to 10-20% travel.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design and engineer protection & control systems for renewable and power delivery projects
- Develop and review protective relay settings (SEL, GE, Schweitzer, etc.)
- Follow project progress through commissioning
- Prepare P&C drawings, schematics, logic diagrams, and technical documentation
- Collaborate with project teams, clients, and utilities from design through energization
What They're Looking For
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar)
- Experience with P&C design, commissioning, and relay settings
- Familiarity with renewable energy projects (solar, wind, battery storage, substations)
- Working knowledge of industry standards (IEEE, NERC, NEC, utility requirements)
- Comfortable working independently while contributing to a team-first environment
