A leading heavy civil contractor in the Salt Lake City market is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to oversee complex transportation and infrastructure projects. This is a key leadership role for someone experienced with UDOT, large roadway work, structures, and comprehensive civil construction operations.


Role Overview

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for full project lifecycle management-from preconstruction and planning through execution, delivery, and closeout. You'll lead project teams, manage client relationships, and drive successful outcomes on high‑visibility projects across northern Utah.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead heavy civil and transportation projects for UDOT and local municipalities.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, contracts, and financial performance.
  • Coordinate with engineers, owners, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Oversee construction activities to ensure safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to project engineers and field staff.
  • Support estimating, preconstruction, procurement, and risk management activities.
  • Ensure project milestones and deliverables are met with excellence.

Required Qualifications

  • 8-10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction project management.
  • Strong background in UDOT projects-roadways, bridges, structures, grading, utilities.
  • Proven ability to manage large, complex transportation projects.
  • Strong understanding of DOT specifications, permitting, and compliance.
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage multiple stakeholders.
