Roadway Engineer

Job Description: The Project Engineer will support Senior Project Engineers and manage various transportation-related projects. This role involves developing roadway alignments, roadside evaluations, multi-modal designs, and preparing construction plans and technical reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participates in the development of roadway alignments, roadside evaluation and design, multi-modal (pedestrian, bicycle, transit) design, and maintenance of traffic design
- Prepares construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports
- Manages project assignments ranging from small-scale intersection improvements to complex interchange and corridor projects
- Supports Senior Project Engineers in various tasks
Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 5-10 years of relevant experience in highway engineering
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be highly responsive to clients
- Experience in, or a strong desire to develop, oversight, mentorship, and staff management support skills
- Knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, and other relevant highway design guidelines, criteria, and standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to handle multiple assignments
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future
