Sales Engineer
Responsibilities
- Develop automation solutions for manufacturing customers by understanding their goals, challenges, and technical requirements.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through close, including qualification, solution development, and negotiation.
- Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers across multiple industries.
- Create territory and account plans and execute against annual sales targets.
- Work closely with internal engineering, project, and support teams to define solutions and present a clear value case to customers.
- Deliver presentations and clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Coordinate proposals, review customer requirements, and ensure accurate documentation in the CRM.
- Support customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events and maintain consistent outbound engagement.
- Provide timely follow up on service and support issues and assist with project communication as needed.
- Participate in ongoing sales and technical training and contribute to team knowledge and development.
- Travel up to 50 percent to support customer meetings, site visits, and events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, or five plus years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical control components and industrial controls platforms.
- Proven experience in technical sales or selling engineered solutions.
- Skilled in negotiation, customer communication, and presenting complex solutions clearly.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts, prioritize effectively, and hit defined sales metrics.
- Comfortable working both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Experience working with automation or industrial equipment strongly preferred.
- Ability to travel regularly and work in customer environments including manufacturing facilities.
- Contract negotiation experience is a plus.
