Position Overview:
As a Senior Air Permit Engineer, you will serve as a technical expert and project lead on air permitting and compliance assignments. Your role will span from hands-on regulatory analysis and emissions evaluations to business development and client relationship management. You'll help clients navigate complex environmental regulations while promoting sustainability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and submittal of air permit applications and compliance documentation.
Analyze emissions data, conduct air dispersion modeling (if applicable), and evaluate operational compliance with federal and state air quality regulations.
Provide on-site support at industrial facilities for audits, data collection, and regulatory interpretation.
Develop air emission inventories and assist clients in understanding and meeting reporting obligations.
Collaborate with internal technical staff, project managers, and business development teams to identify new project opportunities.
Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and professional networking groups to expand visibility and generate leads.
Draft proposals and contribute to pricing strategies and pursuit planning for environmental projects.
Foster strong client relationships and contribute to long-term client satisfaction and account growth.
Mentor junior staff and share technical knowledge with the internal team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical field.
Professional Engineering (PE) license and experience with air dispersion modeling tools are highly desirable.
At least 10 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, compliance, or regulatory agency roles.
Strong understanding of federal and state air quality regulations and permitting programs.
Demonstrated experience preparing and submitting air permit applications and associated regulatory documentation.
Skilled in technical writing, report preparation, and proposal development.
Proficient with Excel for calculations and data management.
Excellent communication, organization, and client service skills.
