Senior Air Quality Specialist
A client is seeking an environmental professional to support air permitting for major energy development projects, including oil and gas, power, and emerging technologies. This role is part of the capital projects team and works closely with engineering, construction, and regulatory groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage air permit applications for new and modified facilities.
- Develop emissions estimates using approved methodologies and project-specific data.
- Monitor relevant air regulations and assess their impact on planned projects.
- Evaluate air pollution control options and provide technical recommendations.
- Review emission calculations for operational, maintenance, startup, and shutdown activities.
- Support project teams by communicating permitting needs, timelines, and constraints.
- Assist with permitting schedules, cost estimates, and compliance planning.
- Prepare technical presentations and updates for internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Help shape permitting strategies to keep projects aligned with schedule and budget goals.
Qualifications
- Degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related technical field preferred.
- Several years of experience in air permitting or environmental compliance, ideally in the energy sector.
- Familiarity with emissions modeling tools and air dispersion screening methods.
- Strong analytical, communication, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, multi‑disciplinary environment.
- Some travel to project sites required.
