A fast-growing technology company specializing in advanced membrane solutions is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to support its expanding customer base across Europe. The organization is known for its breakthrough innovations in water and wastewater treatment and serves a wide range of industrial sectors including food & beverage, agriculture, and manufacturing.


Role Summary

This role is ideal for a technically skilled engineer with deep experience in membrane systems and a passion for solving complex water challenges. The Senior Applications Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert, supporting both internal teams and external partners in the design, integration, and optimization of membrane-based treatment systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a technical expert for membrane products and applications across Europe
  • Collaborate with sales teams to assess feasibility and risk of new opportunities
  • Provide post-sales support, including site visits and troubleshooting
  • Develop system design guidelines and technical documentation
  • Lead training sessions for OEMs and end users
  • Create proposals and cost estimates for membrane systems
  • Contribute to internal knowledge development and product performance studies
  • Mentor junior engineers and support team development
  • Communicate technical risks and solutions clearly to stakeholders
  • Present technical content to customers and industry partners

Qualifications

  • Degree in Chemical, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of experience with crossflow membrane systems (RO, NF, UF)
  • Expertise in industrial or food-grade membrane system design and operation
  • Familiarity with conventional water/wastewater treatment technologies
  • Strong understanding of current membrane product lines and market practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort with public speaking and hosting technical trainings
  • Fluency in English required; French and/or Spanish highly preferred
  • Knowledge of regional water treatment regulations and standards

Additional Details

  • Remote role based in Europe
  • Travel up to 25% (primarily short trips for site visits and conferences)
  • Occasional travel to U.S. headquarters for training and workshops
  • Competitive compensation based on experience and location
