About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join a well-established engineering consultancy with a strong reputation in water infrastructure and environmental resilience. Based in Sydney, this role will focus on delivering innovative solutions in floodplain risk management, stormwater systems, and urban water infrastructure, contributing to safer, more sustainable communities across Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage technical delivery of floodplain risk management and stormwater projects, including hydrologic and hydraulic modelling, concept and detailed design.
  • Provide expert input into flood studies, drainage strategies, water-sensitive urban design (WSUD), and integrated water management.
  • Collaborate with clients, councils, and government agencies to ensure regulatory compliance and community outcomes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical development across the team.
  • Support proposal development, project scoping, and client engagement activities.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, climate adaptation strategies, and emerging technologies in water infrastructure.

About You

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in floodplain management, stormwater design, and water infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in modelling software such as TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, XP-RAFTS, MUSIC, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of Australian standards, guidelines, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Passion for sustainable urban development and climate resilience.
