Senior Field Designer - Electrical Distribution
Full-time, direct hire

About the role: A dynamic engineering team is seeking a Senior Field Designer with expertise in medium-voltage electrical distribution (5kV-35kV). If you're detail-driven, field-savvy, and passionate about turning data into precise designs, this role offers a great opportunity to make an impact.

Location: Houston or Boerne, TX, with occasional travel

Key Responsibilities
Design & Drafting
* Convert field notes and survey data into CAD drawings
* Create plan/profile layouts using GPS, LiDAR, and design guides
* Prepare permits, ROW maps, and coordinate with engineers
* Deliver accurate staking documentation and design calculations
Quality Assurance
* Ensure CAD deliverables meet high standards for accuracy and formatting
* Resolve field issues proactively and efficiently
* Validate field decisions and improve design workflows
Proposal Support
* Collaborate with Project Managers to scope field services and estimate hours
* Maintain organized documentation of design decisions and communications
Team Collaboration
* Attend project meetings, share design insights, and mentor peers
* Build strong relationships with field and office teams

Qualifications
* Associate's degree in Drafting/Design or 10+ years of relevant experience
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills
* Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, PLS-CADD, and medium/high voltage systems
* Familiarity with electric utility standards and best practices
