Overview:
My client seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 7 years of experience, including a strong background in healthcare facility design. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex electrical engineering projects, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the growth of a dynamic and collaborative team. This role will be remote with local travel within the state of Florida and some regional travel to the surrounding states.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of electrical systems for healthcare facilities, including hospitals, clinics, and medical office buildings.
- Oversee power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, nurse call, and low-voltage systems design.
- Coordinate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Prepare and review construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Conduct site visits and field inspections to verify design intent and support construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements (e.g., NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, FGI Guidelines).
- Mentor and support junior engineers and designers.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communications.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 7+ years of electrical engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on healthcare projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or in progress.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare codes and standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Arc Flash Studies and electrical load calculations.
- Familiarity with sustainable design practices and LEED certification.
- Experience working with public and private sector healthcare clients.
