Senior Geotechnical Engineer
About the Role:
We are seeking a technically accomplished and strategically minded Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead complex projects and mentor junior staff within a dynamic and collaborative team. This role offers the opportunity to shape geotechnical solutions for infrastructure, energy, and environmental developments across California, while contributing to business growth and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead geotechnical investigations, design, and analysis for major infrastructure, energy, and development projects.
- Oversee field programs including drilling, sampling, in-situ testing, and instrumentation.
- Develop geotechnical design recommendations for foundations, retaining structures, slope stability, ground improvement, and seismic response.
- Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and client deliverables.
- Serve as a technical lead and client liaison, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule adherence.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and geologists.
- Support business development efforts through proposal writing, client engagement, and strategic planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California required; GE license preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive geotechnical experience, ideally with exposure to infrastructure, energy, or environmental sectors.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, gINT, GeoStudio, LPILE, Slope/W).
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects concurrently.
