A leading architecture and restoration firm is seeking an experienced Senior Restoration Architect to join its growing team. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex restoration and historic preservation projects across New York City's five boroughs, from affordable housing to luxury developments and landmarked structures.
As a Senior Restoration Architect, you will oversee a team of architects and engineers, ensuring effective project delivery, staff development, and technical excellence. You'll work on a diverse portfolio of projects through all phases-from planning to construction administration-while collaborating directly with building owners, city agencies, and key stakeholders.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $160,000
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple large-scale restoration and historic preservation projects.
- Manage team organization, training, and resource planning.
- Oversee façade, roof, plaza, and garage restoration projects.
- Conduct building envelope inspections and develop restoration designs.
- Prepare and submit Local Law 11/FISP reports, including site inspections and DOB documentation.
- Perform building inspections from ground level, rooftops, and scaffolding.
- Develop architectural plans, details, and specifications.
- Coordinate compliance with Landmark Preservation requirements.
- Participate in contractor bid reviews and walkthroughs.
- Review payment applications, change orders, and project schedules.
- Support business development and maintain client relationships.
- Provide mentorship and quality oversight for junior staff.
- Estimate scope, staffing, and timelines for proposals.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of architectural experience, with at least 5 years focused on Local Law 11/FISP.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture (Master's preferred).
- Registered Architect (RA) license required.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong written/verbal communication skills.
- Prior experience with New York City projects.
