Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of major roadway and transportation projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team, providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers while collaborating with project managers, environmental planners, and traffic specialists.
  • Prepare detailed engineering designs, plans, and specifications for transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Utilize state-of-the-art design software to optimize designs for safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand project needs and offer expert input throughout the design and implementation phases.
  • Review the work of junior team members, providing constructive feedback and support to enhance their professional development.

Qualifications:

  • A licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in New York or the ability to obtain licensure in the state.
  • 5+ years of experience in roadway and transportation design, with expertise in roadway or highway design, drainage systems, and traffic management.
  • Strong proficiency in industry-standard design software (Bentley, AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, HEC-RAS, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of New York State DOT guidelines and standards.
  • Proven experience leading projects and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Experience working on transportation projects in New York with a deep understanding of local regulations and requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • A passion for innovation, sustainability, and advancing transportation solutions.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
