Senior Structural Engineer
A well-established structural engineering firm in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with a current California SE license to take on a leadership role within their growing team. This position is ideal for someone who's ready to step into a strategic role-leading projects, guiding junior engineers, and serving as a key technical resource across the office.
The firm is known for its work on civic, institutional, and commercial buildings throughout Southern California. Projects are often architecturally ambitious and structurally complex, offering the opportunity to work on high-impact designs that shape the region. As a senior engineer, you'll be responsible for managing project delivery, coordinating with clients and design teams, and ensuring technical excellence from concept through construction.
You'll also play a key role in mentoring younger staff, helping to build internal capabilities and foster a collaborative, growth-oriented culture. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys both the technical and interpersonal sides of engineering-someone who can lead confidently, communicate clearly, and inspire trust.
Qualifications:
- California SE license (required)
- 8+ years of experience in structural engineering for buildings
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Proficiency in ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, and similar tools
- Deep understanding of seismic design and California building codes
- Experience working directly with architects, developers, and contractors
