We are partnering with a respected heavy civil contractor with a strong presence across the Upper Midwest and a very healthy backlog of work. Their team focuses on underground utilities, site utilities, earthwork, and civil infrastructure projects for both public and private clients. They are known for taking care of their people, running safe jobs, and delivering consistent results project after project.

Position Summary:

Due to continued growth, our client is looking to add experienced field leaders to help manage their expanding workload. They're looking for Foremen and Superintendents with hands on experience overseeing underground and site utility scopes. These roles are ideal for field leaders who enjoy being involved day to day, supporting crews, and keeping work moving safely and efficiently.

Projects typically range from $1M to $15M+ depending on size and complexity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily underground and site utility operations on active job sites
  • Work closely with crews to plan work, set expectations, and keep production on track
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials to support daily activities
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on site
  • Review plans and utility layouts ahead of installation to avoid issues in the field
  • Partner with project managers, inspectors, engineers, and owners
  • Help solve field challenges related to utilities, access, sequencing, and site conditions
  • Track progress and provide regular updates through daily reports and jobsite communication
  • Ensure work is completed to quality standards and project requirements

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Foreman or Superintendent on underground or site utility projects
  • Strong working knowledge of water, sewer, storm, and civil utility installation
  • Comfort leading crews and coordinating multiple work fronts
  • Good understanding of trench safety, sequencing, and productivity
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, profiles, and utility details
  • Clear communicator who works well with both field and office teams
  • Safety minded approach to managing people and job sites
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to regional job sites as needed
