A nationally recognized general contractor is seeking a full-time Electrical Engineer to join its team in Norton, MA. This firm specializes in underground electrical distribution, substation construction, and renewable energy projects across the continental U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Review electrical and PV drawings, specifications, and calculations (e.g., cable sizing).
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, IEC, UL, and local permitting requirements.
  • Evaluate vendor designs and documentation.
  • Conduct site visits to verify design implementation and safety standards.
  • Coordinate across disciplines and maintain effective project communication.
  • Support preconstruction efforts including cost estimates and manpower planning.
  • Recommend renewable energy technologies and innovative solutions.
  • Assist with procurement and proposal development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in the electrical utility or renewable energy sector; construction experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems and network design.
  • Experience with solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and substation engineering.
  • Strong understanding of constructability and engineering economics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam, MicroStation, and Procore is a plus.
  • OSHA safety training preferred.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
