Solar Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced Solar Project Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of solar construction projects, from pre-construction through closeout. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage solar construction projects of varying size and complexity using established processes and best practices.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and financial reports; monitor performance against baseline plans.
- Lead project meetings and ensure effective communication among stakeholders.
- Track field productivity and implement corrective actions to protect labor budgets and profitability.
- Oversee project safety, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with company safety culture.
- Identify and document project delays or impacts; prepare and submit claims in accordance with contract requirements.
- Resolve issues promptly by analyzing root causes and implementing solutions.
- Provide conceptual input and visualizations to support project planning and stakeholder engagement.
- Travel to project sites as needed (typically 3-4 days per week throughout the Midwest).
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the solar industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience (geotechnical knowledge is a plus).
- Strong understanding of electrical systems installation, particularly PV/DC systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to perform accurate estimating and takeoffs.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-driven.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the Midwest.
