The Opportunity
Our client is a dynamic and growing structural engineering consultancy known for delivering practical, efficient, and high-quality design solutions across a range of building projects. With a strong reputation for technical excellence and a collaborative working style, they are continuing to expand their team.
They are now seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE) license and a minimum of 6 years' experience. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects, contribute to business growth, and work closely with experienced professionals in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural design and analysis across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments
- Prepare calculations, reports, specifications, and construction documentation
- Act as Engineer of Record where required
- Review and approve designs in line with relevant codes and standards
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
- Mentor and support junior engineers
- Attend client meetings, site visits, and inspections as needed
- Contribute to the ongoing development of internal processes and technical standards
Requirements
- Licensed PE or SE (essential)
- Minimum 6 years of structural engineering experience
- Proven track record delivering building structures projects from concept through construction
- Strong understanding of structural design codes and best practices
- Experience with industry-standard software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD, RAM, or similar)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
Desirable
- Consultancy background
- Experience designing in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry
- Familiarity with BIM tools such as Revit
- Experience leading projects and developing client relationships
