Structural Engineer
Overview:
My client is seeking a highly skilled and licensed Professional Structural Engineer (P.E.) to join their growing team in Goodyear, AZ. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural design and analysis for multifamily housing, HOA developments, residential homes, and commercial buildings. This role involves working closely with architects, developers, and contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and code-compliant structural systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analysis and design for wood, steel, concrete, and masonry structures.
- Prepare construction documents including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with design and safety standards.
- Collaborate with project teams including architects, civil engineers, and contractors.
- Review and approve shop drawings and submittals.
- Ensure designs meet local, state, and national building codes (IBC, IRC, ASCE, etc.).
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and drafters.
- Coordinate with city and county officials for permitting and inspections.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Active Arizona P.E. license required.
- 5+ years of structural engineering experience, preferably in multifamily and commercial sectors.
- Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., RISA, ETABS, SAP2000, AutoCAD, Revit).
- Strong knowledge of building codes and construction practices in Arizona.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with HOA and residential community developments.
- Familiarity with Arizona-specific soil and seismic conditions.
- LEED accreditation or experience with sustainable design practices is a plus.
