Structural Substation Engineer - BESS
We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our growing team, specializing in substation projects and battery energy storage systems (BESS). This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge energy infrastructure that supports the transition to a sustainable future.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze structural components for substations and BESS facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations for foundations, steel structures, and equipment supports.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers, civil engineers, and project managers to deliver integrated solutions.
- Conduct site assessments and provide technical support during construction and commissioning phases.
- Ensure adherence to relevant codes (ASCE, AISC, ACI, IEEE) and client requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
- 5+ years of experience in structural design for substations, transmission, or energy storage projects.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000) and CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of seismic, wind, and load design considerations for energy infrastructure.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with renewable energy projects and grid integration.
- Familiarity with utility standards and permitting processes.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
