About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Superintendent to lead field operations on complex water and wastewater construction projects throughout the Houston area. This role is responsible for supervising crews, coordinating with project management, ensuring safety and quality compliance, and delivering work on schedule and within scope. The ideal candidate has strong experience with underground utilities, concrete structures, treatment plant work, and municipal infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee daily field operations for water and wastewater construction projects.
- Supervise craft workers, subcontractors, and onsite field leadership to ensure safe and efficient execution.
- Coordinate scheduling, sequencing, and resource planning with project managers and engineers.
- Ensure all work meets specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct daily safety briefings and enforce company safety policies.
- Perform site inspections, track progress, and resolve field‑level challenges.
- Maintain accurate documentation, field reports, and daily logs.
- Communicate proactively with owners, inspectors, and stakeholders.
- Assist in planning, procurement coordination, and project close‑out activities.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of superintendent experience in heavy civil or water/wastewater construction.
- Strong knowledge of underground utilities, large‑diameter piping, concrete structures, and municipal infrastructure.
- Proven ability to lead field crews and manage multiple work fronts.
- Excellent understanding of safety practices, QA/QC processes, and construction sequencing.
- Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites across the Houston area.
