Role Overview
A well-established, employee-focused contractor specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on complex treatment plant construction, pump stations, and facility upgrade projects across New England. This organization has built its reputation on technical execution, safety, quality, and long-term commitment to the communities its projects serve.
This is an opportunity to join a company where the work is meaningful, the projects are technically interesting, and experienced field leaders are trusted to run work the right way. The role is ideal for someone who understands how to build within active or sensitive operating environments and can lead crews, subcontractors, and day-to-day site execution with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day field operations on water and wastewater treatment, pump station, and related infrastructure projects from mobilization through closeout.
- Manage subcontractors, site logistics, safety, quality, schedule performance, and coordination with project management and engineering teams.
- Review contract documents, drawings, and shop drawings; identify issues early and support RFIs, field coordination, and resolution of site challenges.
- Oversee material deliveries, site activities, production, and workforce planning to keep projects moving efficiently.
- Maintain strong documentation and communication across daily reports, progress updates, safety, and coordination meetings.
- Help drive project success on large, technically demanding municipal and infrastructure jobs where sequencing, quality, and professionalism matter.
What They're Looking For
- Proven Superintendent experience in water, wastewater, pump station, or treatment plant construction.
- Strong familiarity with active facility work, renovations and upgrades, equipment coordination, and complex civil, mechanical, and electrical interfaces.
- Ability to lead field teams, coordinate subcontractors, and maintain control of safety, quality, and schedule on multi-million-dollar projects.
- Comfortable using technology and project documentation tools and communicating effectively with owners, engineers, vendors, and internal teams.
- OSHA certification and willingness to travel regionally to project sites.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
- You'd be joining a contractor focused almost entirely on critical water and wastewater infrastructure, not generic commercial work.
- The company has a long-standing presence in New England, a meaningful project portfolio, and a reputation built around disciplined execution, safety, and quality.
- Employee ownership and long-term investment in people are central to the culture, along with training, tuition support, and advancement opportunities for field leaders who want to grow.
- Benefits are strong and include healthcare, retirement programs, paid time off, company-paid insurance protections, and professional development support.
