Survey Project Manager
Seeking an experienced and driven Land Surveyor / Project Manager to join its growing team. The firm is a full service land surveying firm with 4 offices across Virginia and 2 other offices in Maryland and Florida. The firm is licensed to perform services in 23 states including DC. The firm is also classifies as as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and a Small Woman and Minority (SWaM) business from agencies including VDOT, MDOT, DDOT, WMATA, and MWAA.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare survey plats and maps, including boundary, topographic, as-built, and utility route surveys
- Ensure compliance with current VDOT survey requirements
- Manage projects from initiation through completion, including scope, schedule, and client coordination
- Conduct courthouse research and prepare legal descriptions
- Perform construction staking calculations
- Participate in fieldwork as needed
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant land surveying experience
- Licensure as a Land Surveyor in Virginia, or the ability to obtain licensure (preferred but not required)
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and MicroStation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prepare fee proposals and maintain client relationships
