A multidisciplinary engineering firm is seeking a Traffic / Transportation Engineer to join its collaborative team in Houston, Dallas, or Austin, TX. This role involves contributing to a variety of traffic and transportation planning projects across diverse market sectors including sports, healthcare, education, commercial, and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support traffic and transportation planning and permitting efforts.
  • Conduct traffic impact and parking studies, including data collection and analysis.
  • Perform preliminary traffic reviews to identify critical issues during early project stages.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation for traffic and parking studies.
  • Utilize engineering software such as SYNCHRO and HCS for traffic analysis and design.
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering documents including plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate and perform field services as needed.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on project execution.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in traffic engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • EIT certification required; PE licensure or ability to obtain is preferred.
  • Proficiency in SYNCHRO, HCS, and familiarity with MUTCD standards.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed.
