Role Overview
As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead water resources projects of varying complexity, manage a talented team of engineers, and ensure high-quality deliverables. You'll also play a key role in client management, business development, and advancing design processes. This position reports directly to the Director of Water Resources and offers significant influence over team operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee design and review of stormwater management plans and construction documents
- Perform QA/QC on technical reports, permit applications, and modeling outputs
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and client relationships
- Lead coordination with regulatory agencies to secure approvals
- Support contract management, including proposals, billing, and negotiations
- Mentor and manage multiple engineers across concurrent projects
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant experience in water resources engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia (or ability to obtain)
- Proven experience managing teams and complex projects
- Strong technical expertise in stormwater, floodplain, and dam design
- Proficiency with H&H modeling tools (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8, Flowmaster)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with ArcGIS and AutoCAD
- Experience with multi-jurisdictional regulatory standards
