Water/Wastewater Senior Project Manager
Role Overview
This hybrid role combines technical leadership with strategic business development. You'll be responsible for managing complex water and wastewater projects, mentoring junior staff, and cultivating long-term client relationships. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator, a trusted advisor to clients, and a skilled engineer with a passion for delivering innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment facilities, pump stations, pipelines, and distribution systems
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, ensuring responsiveness, quality, and alignment with project goals
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, proposal development, and client presentations
- Oversee project teams, budgets, schedules, and deliverables
- Provide technical guidance and quality assurance across all phases of project development
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and professional associations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in California
- 12+ years of experience in water/wastewater infrastructure design and project management
- Proven track record of successful client engagement and business development
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience with permitting, regulatory compliance, and coordination with public agencies
- Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD Civil3D, GIS, and hydraulic modeling tools
