Location: Woodland, Washington
Compensation: $125,000 - $155,000 base salary, depending on experience
Position Overview
A well‑established general contractor is seeking an experienced Earthwork & Concrete Estimator to support civil and concrete construction projects based out of Woodland, WA. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for earthwork, site development, and concrete scopes while supporting preconstruction efforts and helping position projects for successful execution.
The ideal candidate has strong technical estimating skills, a solid understanding of civil construction means and methods, and experience working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
Experience Needed
- Experience estimating earthwork and concrete scopes, including:
- Mass excavation and grading
- Site development and utilities support
- Structural and flatwork concrete
- Experience preparing detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates from plans and specifications
- Familiarity with civil construction means and methods
- Experience soliciting, reviewing, and leveling subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Exposure to value engineering and cost‑saving alternatives during preconstruction
- Prior experience estimating for a general contractor or civil / concrete contractor
Qualifications Required
- 3-8+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably within civil, heavy civil, or concrete construction
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports
- Proficiency with estimating software and tools (e.g., Excel, takeoff software, bidding platforms)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and attention‑to‑detail skills
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with project management and operations teams
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
