The Opportunity

To support continued growth in Florida, the firm is seeking a Forensic Structural Engineer to take on a regional leadership role based in Tampa. This position is ideal for a licensed engineer who thrives in a technical, investigative environment and wants the opportunity to influence regional operations.

Travel is expected-particularly during hurricane season-but is compensated through significant performance bonuses, often ranging from $20,000 to $50,000 annually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct forensic investigations of buildings and structures affected by natural disasters, structural failures, or construction defects

  • Document conditions and determine causation using engineering principles and on-site observations

  • Produce clear, defensible engineering reports and, when required, provide expert testimony

  • Collaborate with clients, legal teams, insurance professionals, and other consultants

  • Support regional project coordination and contribute to the firm's reputation for excellence


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Florida (or ability to obtain within 6 months)

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in structural engineering; forensic experience is a strong plus

  • In-depth knowledge of construction methods, building materials, and codes

  • Strong written communication skills, including technical report writing

  • Comfortable with regional travel and field investigations
