Heavy Civil / Civil Superintendent

Location: Portland, Oregon
Salary: $140,000-$180,000 + Bonus(s)

A well-established civil construction firm in Portland, OR is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to lead field operations on major infrastructure projects. This is a long-term opportunity with a company known for delivering high-quality work across transportation, utilities, and public works sectors.


Responsibilities

  • Manage daily field operations for heavy civil construction projects including roads, bridges, utilities, and site development.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field crews to ensure efficient and safe execution.
  • Maintain project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Conduct site inspections and lead progress meetings.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to resolve field challenges.

Experience Required

  • 5-10 years of experience in heavy civil construction.
  • Demonstrated success managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of excavation, grading, concrete, utilities, and structural components.
  • Experience with DOT, municipal, or public works projects is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in construction scheduling tools such as Primavera or MS Project.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
