Heavy Civil Project Manager - Site Development & Excavation
A reputable and growing site development and excavation contractor based in Central Massachusetts is seeking a Project Manager to join its leadership team. Position Overview
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing multiple excavation and site development projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role requires a proactive leader who can coordinate field operations, manage project documentation, and ensure timely, on-budget delivery.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of multiple active construction projects.
- Collaborate with field supervisors, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and local regulations.
- Conduct regular site visits and lead progress meetings.
- Manage RFIs, change orders, and project closeout procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction project management (sitework or excavation preferred).
- Strong understanding of civil/site construction practices and materials.
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, or similar).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites across the region.
