Marine Mechanical Engineer
A well-established engineering firm specialising in MARINE engineering systems is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their collaborative and innovative team. This employee-owned company has a long-standing reputation for delivering creative solutions to complex marine challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop shipboard mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct feasibility studies and system analyses (e.g., propulsion, HVAC, auxiliary systems).
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for regulatory and cost review.
- Lead project teams, manage scope, schedule, and budget, and contribute to proposal development.
- Collaborate across disciplines to integrate mechanical systems into vessel designs.
- Mentor junior engineers and stay current with industry trends and technologies.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in marine or mechanical system design; consulting experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related field.
- PE license preferred (or eligibility to obtain within one year).
- Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, Rhino3D, SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with ABS rules and CFR Title 46 regulations.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; some travel and fieldwork required.
