Job Summary

A professional engineering and surveying firm is seeking an experienced Professional Land Surveyor to join its established survey practice supporting transportation and infrastructure projects across the United States. This role is focused on high‑level technical oversight, quality control, and delivery of surveying services for public sector clients, particularly state departments of transportation.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in boundary, right‑of‑way, and control surveys, along with extensive experience supporting DOT projects and working in a collaborative, detail‑driven environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee boundary, easement, and right‑of‑way records research, survey computations, and mosaic creation.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews of survey control observations and network adjustments.
  • Review, document, and validate field data processing, CAD file development, and survey plat submittals.
  • Support consistent adherence to technical standards, agency requirements, and project specifications.
  • Manage multiple assignments, clients, and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and successful project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geodesy, or a related field preferred. Candidates with an associate's degree or high school diploma may be considered with substantial relevant experience.
  • Active Professional Land Surveyor registration in at least one United States jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant survey experience supporting state department of transportation clients.
  • Proficiency with survey and design software including StarNet, MicroStation, and AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of boundary, right‑of‑way, and control survey principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • United States citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Land Surveyor registration in multiple United States jurisdictions.
  • Proficiency with Bentley OpenRoads Designer and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Experience with DOT feature code processing and right‑of‑way plat preparation.
  • Prior experience supporting transportation infrastructure projects with complex agency requirements.
