Project Designer

A well established, Bay Area/ Tahoe-based design practice specializing in high-end residential custom homes is hiring for a Designer to join their office by Lake Tahoe!

They are looking for someone with strong production skills, growing technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate work across disciplines while maintaining design intent. You will work closely with Project Managers, senior designers, consultants, and clients to support highquality project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to design development across multiple architectural projects, ensuring clear and accurate documentation through all phases.
  • Support project managers by coordinating drawings, schedules, consultant information, and technical details.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, consultants, contractors, and fabricators to maintain alignment between design intent and project execution.
  • Produce plans, elevations, sections, details, and presentation materials using ArchiCAD, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.
  • Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and coordination items throughout the construction process.
  • Participate in field work, including site visits, measurements, construction observations, and asbuilt documentation.
  • Assist in maintaining project templates, standards, and internal workflows to support consistency and quality across deliverables.
  • Contribute to a positive, communicative studio culture by participating in internal reviews, team meetings, and collaborative design sessions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field.
  • 4-7 years of architectural experience within a professional practice.
  • Strong skills in design, documentation, and coordination across multiple project phases.
  • Experience preparing construction drawings, technical detailing, and consultant coordination packages.
  • Familiarity with building codes, construction processes, and permitting workflows.
  • ArchiCAD or Revit-skilled
  • Strong communication, organization, and timemanagement skills, with the ability to juggle multiple active projects.
  • Interest in professional growth and ongoing progress toward architectural licensure.
  • Willingness to participate in local site visits and field activities as required.
