Position Overview
The Project Manager will lead a team of engineers and drafters while overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of structural design projects. This role requires both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills, as you will serve as a liaison between internal teams, clients, and executive leadership.
If licensed, you will serve as the Engineer of Record and hold responsible charge over designated projects. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, proactive, and capable of guiding both the technical and operational aspects of structural design workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Technical Oversight
- Direct, mentor, and support engineering and drafting staff across project phases
- Review, guide, and implement structural design solutions meeting seismic, code, and client standards
- Oversee preparation of drawings, calculations, and technical documentation
- Serve as Engineer of Record for assigned projects (if licensed)
Project Management
- Manage established project budgets and assist in new budget development
- Create and maintain project schedules to meet internal and client deadlines
- Coordinate project deliverables to ensure accuracy, constructibility, and efficiency
- Identify potential project risks and develop proactive solutions
Client Coordination
- Act as primary point of contact for clients, architects, contractors, and consultants
- Maintain consistent communication to ensure expectations, changes, and timelines are aligned
- Represent the firm in project meetings, presentations, and design discussions
Team Development & Collaboration
- Help develop internal standards, processes, and best practices
- Support training initiatives for junior engineers and production staff
- Collaborate with executive leadership and cross‑functional teams to enhance operational efficiency
Compensation & Benefits
Our client offers a highly competitive compensation package designed to support both financial and personal well‑being:
- Salary: $110,000-$150,000 (depending on experience & licensure)
- 3-4 Weeks Vacation/Sick Time (based on experience & license)

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Architectural, Civil, or Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE or SE) license required
- California EIT certification preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and team leadership skills
- Experience with wood, steel, concrete, and masonry structural design, ideally in high seismic regions
Preferred Skills
- AutoCAD experience required
- Revit experience preferred
- Experience with RISA, ETABS, Enercalc, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving ability
