Staff Architect - NYC
Position: Project Architect - Healthcare Focus
Location: New York City, NY
Salary: Approximately $100,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
Role Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Project Architect to lead and manage healthcare-focused architectural projects from concept through completion. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and client engagement, with a strong emphasis on quality, efficiency, and design integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all phases of architectural projects, demonstrating deep technical knowledge across a range of project types and complexities.
- Manage and mentor multidisciplinary teams of varying sizes, assigning tasks, coordinating efforts, and reviewing deliverables to ensure quality and consistency.
- Provide final oversight on code compliance, material selection, and technical specifications.
- Direct the development and coordination of construction documents, including oversight of BIM model management.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and consultants, attending meetings and maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers to align project execution with strategic workplans, recommending adjustments to staffing or scope as needed.
- Ensure the team delivers work that meets scope, budget, and technical standards, while promoting efficient workflows.
- Champion design excellence throughout the project lifecycle, encouraging innovation and thoughtful solutions.
- Establish and implement best practices for documentation quality and risk mitigation, while mentoring junior staff on accountability and standards.
Qualifications:
- Professional degree in Architecture (Bachelor's or Master's)
- Architectural licensure (or actively pursuing licensure)
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in healthcare architecture
- Strong knowledge of AHCA guidelines and healthcare facility requirements
- Based in or willing to relocate to New York City
- Demonstrated leadership in design, documentation, and construction administration
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and team-building skills
- Proven ability to make sound, independent decisions
- Advanced proficiency in Revit; working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and SketchUp preferred
